PAMELA GILMOUR, CEO OF FINANCIAL FITNESS
Pam has been in the financial services industry for over 34 years following years in banking, data processing and public accounting. She graduated from Bucknell University with a BSBA in Accounting, and says she knew as a young child that she wanted to be in the money business.
She believes that her clients deserve the education and transparency they want to make sound financial decisions. Her planning is holistic, whether the client is still working and accumulating wealth or already in retirement when wealth will be spent, and legacies created. She believes lifetime learning is the way to stay at the top of her game. She creates long-term relationships with her clients, and her practice has grown by referrals and involvement in the community.
Pamela gives back to charities and to other advisors in the financial services industry. She started a local chapter of Women in Insurance and Financial Services in 2009. This group’s purpose is to support women in financial services as they grow their businesses.
She has recently completed an 8-year term on the Maryland Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and served as President from 2018 to 2020. This is a cause very close to her heart. Her fundraising efforts have raised over $100,000 of contributions to date. Each year she continues to fundraise with her WorkOut4Alzheimers team in The Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias.
She named her company Financial Fitness as she believes there are parallels between wealth and health, and that if either is ignored, the costs are significant. When Pamela is not at work or volunteering, she likes to relax with her husband, Gary and their Coonhound/Boxer rescue, Ryder. She doesn’t sit for long as she is either golfing, hiking, skiing, doing yoga, or working out with her trainer.
