I've always been drawn to work where I can make a meaningful impact in someone's life.
I spent nine years in the U.S. Navy working in payroll, entitlements, and travel reimbursements for service members. While the job involved numbers, what I enjoyed most was helping people. When a sailor was having an issue with their pay or benefits, I understood how stressful that could be. I wanted to be the person who listened, advocated for them, and worked to make things right.
Before leaving active duty, I set two personal goals for myself: earn my Master's in Executive Leadership and pay off all of my debt. I spent many evenings delivering Uber Eats to make that happen. It wasn't glamorous, but it taught me discipline, consistency, and what can happen when you're willing to commit to a goal.
After the military, I worked as an Executive Assistant supporting senior leadership. Watching executives work around the clock gave me a new perspective on what I wanted for my own life. I realized I wanted a career where I could continue helping people while also having the opportunity to build something of my own.
Around that same time, friends and family kept asking how I had paid off my debt and started becoming more intentional with my money. Those conversations reminded me how much I enjoyed helping people think through their financial decisions, and they ultimately led me to Financial Growth Partners.
I chose FGP because the people stood out to me. From my very first interview, I appreciated that they took the time to understand who I was as a person, not just what was on my résumé. That same relationship-first approach is how I hope every person feels when they work with me.
Today, I enjoy working with military members, veterans, government professionals, business owners, and families. Whether we're meeting for the first time or continuing a conversation, my goal is always the same: to listen first, understand what matters most to you, and be someone you feel comfortable reaching out to whenever life changes.
