I’m James Prince, a Financial Professional at FGP in the Richmond office. I graduated from Virginia Union with a degree in secondary education and taught for a few years. Originally from Newport News, Virginia, where many of my family members reside in the 757 area, I’ve become quite active. I love reading books, and I often find myself engaging in physical activities and spending time with family while maintaining a busy schedule.
To me, being a Financial Professional is more than just a personal endeavor; it extends my reach and allows me to make a positive impact on people’s lives. When I was a teacher, I was passionate about impacting today’s youth, but I realized that my influence could be greater. As a Financial Professional, I have the opportunity to affect not only the individuals I work with but also future generations if the right strategies are implemented.
I currently work primarily with medical professionals, engineers, attorneys, and families. Since I attended an HBCU, I’m often referred to as an alumnus, but I genuinely enjoy working with a diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds. Joining FGP meant more than just a change in my physical location; it was about finding a place where my clients feel comfortable and where I can provide them with the best possible support.
FGP is more than just a brand to me; it’s a family. This sense of belonging extends beyond the clients to the other advisors and everyone involved in the organization. I don’t believe there’s anything quite like it, and I believe the logo, which signifies advancing human capital, encapsulates this sentiment perfectly.
